Every Rosh Hashanah, the shofar calls us to awaken. This year, that call feels profoundly collective: What can we, as one people, do differently? Two millennia ago, baseless hatred and deep internal divisions led to the destruction of the Second Temple. The arguments faded, but the consequences endured. Today, amid fierce debate over our politics, religion, and future, the holiday liturgy reminds us to be “united as one”—not identical, but connected. At iTaLAM, across 30,000 students in 300+ schools worldwide, we see daily how Hebrew, Jewish learning, and Israel bridge every divide. Our children are watching how we navigate disagreement. Perhaps our greatest responsibility as educators is teaching them something more vital than consensus: how to be different and still belong to one another. קול השופר של ראש השנה קורא לנו לחשבון נפש, אך השנה הקריאה הזו מהדהדת אצלי במיוחד ברמה הלאומית: מה אנחנו, כעם אחד, צריכים לעשות אחרת? לפני אלפיים שנה, השסעים הפנימיים ושנאת החינם גבו מאיתנו את חורבן בית המקדש. הוויכוחים ההם נשכחו מזמן , אך תוצאות הפירוד נותרו. גם היום, כשאנו חלוקים עמוקות סביב פוליטיקה, דת ועתידנו, עלינו לזכור: בתפילת החג אנו מייחלים להיות “אֲגֻדָּה אֶחָת” , לא שנהיה זהים, אלא שנדע להתאחד. באיי-תלעם , עם מעל 30,000 תלמידים ב-300 בתי ספר ברחבי העולם, אנו רואים יום-יום כיצד השפה העברית, הלמידה וישראל מחברות בין עולמות. הילדים שלנו מתבוננים באופן שבו אנו מנהלים מחלוקות, ותפקידנו כמחנכים ללמד אותם את השיעור החשוב מכל: איך להיות שונים – ועדיין להרגיש שייכים זה לזה. שתהא שנת תשפ״ז שנת אחדות, שלום וביטחון. שנה טובה ומתוקה! 🍎🍯 לקריאת המכתב המלא לחצו כאן
