Tu B’Shvat is the festival of trees, fruit and especially the Seven Species. Tu B’shvat is the holiday associated with and which symbolizes the Land of Israel. In the iTaLAM program, the children of Israel in the Diaspora are invited to take in the Land of Israel, learn about the Seven Species, the source of their growth in the Land of Israel, learn about the tree and its parts, the products that can be produced from fruits and cyclicality in the world and in nature. The students learn how the trees contribute to our lives and why we thank God and bless the trees and their fruit. In addition, the students learn about the almond tree (ha shkediah) that grows in Israel and blooms in the month of Shvat.
