This week we make the sacred and painful transition from Yom HaZikaron to Yom HaAtzmaut, from mourning to celebration. This year, like last year, we do so with heavy hearts, but with eternal hope. We not only remember the fallen; we pray and cry out for the return of the 59 hostages still held captive in Gaza. iTaLAM is committed to giving students the space and the tools to talk about this pain – and to connect to it through Hebrew, tefillah (prayer), and peoplehood.
